Founder also stresses company’s diagnostic, educational and technical resources

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 23, 2012) — Heumann Environmental Company (HEC) officially launched its business today, working with industrial customers to optimize production processes, enhance product recovery efforts and address pollution control applications.

Based in Louisville, HEC designs and builds high-efficiency cyclones, the specialized industrial equipment that separates microscopic particles from gas streams. HEC custom configures high-efficiency cyclones for companies specific to the application and the industry, from pharmaceuticals to petrochemicals and wood products to utilities. Additionally, HEC complements the use of cyclones, when needed, with an array of scrubber, filter and electrostatic precipitator (ESP) equipment.

Chief Executive Officer William L. Heumann, an industry expert and patent holder whose background includes leading the international expansion of another environmental services company, says HEC was formed to address the most vexing particle/gas separation challenges.

“Having developed solutions for these issues for more than three decades, both on the technical side and in executive management — I can attest to the benefits of experience, wisdom and knowledge in identifying core issues and developing efficient solutions,” said Heumann.

“Maximizing process efficiency — and doing so quickly and efficiently — provides the greatest value to customers,” he said. “We are here to solve problems, assembling knowledgeable teams, and recommending and manufacturing equipment as needed to custom engineered solutions.”

The company develops entirely new systems for new industrial operations, or it can analyze existing industrial systems to determine the causes of underperformance and recommend actions to optimize processes.

Current and future HEC products include:

  • High-Efficiency Cyclones
  • Scrubbers
  • Classifiers
  • Filters

On the services side, HEC provides:

  • Troubleshooting and Optimization
  • Balanced Air Ventilation System Design
  • Fluid Bed System Design
  • Aerodynamic particle size analysis (liquid sedimentation)
  • Pilot testing

Education and technical resources

To help company engineers identify the possible causes of subpar performance, and to provide possible solutions, HEC has established a technical library and a step-by-step high-efficiency cyclone diagnostic resource on its website.

Also, HEC offers technical seminars and lectures to provide additional insight to engineers and production management involved in sourcing cyclone or related process equipment, with additional custom expertise only a phone call away.

In late January, the company founder is scheduled to conduct a joint technical session about high-efficiency cyclones to members of the Louisville chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

“This company was developed to be a valued technical partner and resource to solve the most vexing and complex issues that companies face,” said Heumann. “Our overriding goal is to bring value to organizations, when they need it the most.”

About HEC leadership

Bill Heumann founded Heumann Environmental Company to provide a trusted resource for industrial customers who need efficient, custom-engineered solutions for pollution control, process optimization, ventilation, dust collection, product recovery and related applications.

For more than two decades, Bill served as Chairman, President and CEO of an environmental services company, expanding its product line and into new products and markets, acquiring attractive companies and eventually expanding operations into China. In 2008, the company was sold and became part of an Ohio conglomerate.

On the technical side, Mr. Heumann has been awarded several patents and has developed or co-developed proprietary technologies utilizing cyclones and fluidized bed systems. He has published several scientific technical papers on industrial air pollution controls and systems. Most recently he co-wrote “Harnessing the Power of Cyclones,” the May 2011 cover story for Chemical Engineering magazine. He is the author of the Industrial Air Pollution Control Systems engineering textbook published in 1997. He has also provided engineering consulting for CO2 Solutions LLC, a company involved with converting refinery CO2 emissions into diesel fuel. A full biography is available at www.heumannenviro.com
